Golden West’s men’s volleyball team warmed up for its game while the crowd members warmed up their vocals to cheer at their last home game of the season- and both killed it. ASGWC’s Student Activities Committee hosted the Men’s Volleyball Tailgate party on Wednesday, April 13 and ignited school spirit.
Right in front of the sand volleyball courts, the student activities committee handed out an array of fresh foods and DJ’d for the couple of hours before the game. Students came for free food, socializing experiences, music, and even Frisbee. Staff from all different departments came out as well.
Student Activities Committee also made sure that attendees were decked out in GWC’s green and yellow attire and had blow horns. After the event, everyone headed to the gym to watch the men’s volleyball team’s last performance on home soil.
The lively crowd applauded and roared during the game against Grossmont College, helping to keep the intensity and spirits high. The first round was neck and neck with GWC’s slight win of 25-22, but the persistence and team work emitted from GWC throughout the game lead them to a powerful win over all of 3 -0.
Student and attendee Erik Huska said, “Attending the tailgate party before the men’s volleyball last home game was a fun experience of hanging out with students and staff.”
