The Golden West College women’s water polo team dominated its tournament, winning four games in a row. They beat nearby Long Beach City College 12-4 in their fourth game of the weekend.
Next, the team will be attending the Southern California Championships held in Pasadena beginning Nov. 13 and state championships the following weekend.
Unfortunately, men’s water polo didn’t come out of their last tourney unscathed. They ended with a record of 3-1, losing in a close game with West Valley. Final score was 14-16.
Prior to SCC and state championships, men’s water polo has a conference tournament held in Fullerton this weekend.
State championships will be held at GWC, because the GWC men’s team won the 2008 state championship.
The dates are Nov. 19-21. Tickets will be sold for $8.
