Whats up? May 12-25

Sophisticated duck lovers:  Love rubber ducks? Enjoy tasting wine? This weekend Huntington Beach will be hosting the 18th Annual Duck-A-Thon to raise proceeds for the local AltaMed Community Clinic. Friday, May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be a wine tasting event downtown. Tickets cost $40 in advanced or $50 at the door.  Saturday and Sunday, May 15 and 16, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. children can enjoy bounce houses,  decorate rubber ducks, play games. Adults can go shopping for
jewelry, home decor, as well as arts and crafts.
Finally at 3 p.m., the
contestants can drop their rubber ducks off the pier and watch them surf towards the shore. More information can be found at http://duckathon.org/.

Automobilists:
Saturday, May 15 is a car show fundraiser for Our Lady in Refuge Catholic school. Hot rods, Harleys, Street customs and more. Admission is free, participation is $25 for pre-registered vehicles, $30 at the gate. Ice cold beer and wine is available. Local Tunes: For those 21+, Da Kooks are playing at Perqs in Huntington Beach on May 12, 2010 at 9 p.m. Go and enjoy the music and who knows maybe you’ll discover a new favorite band and meet some new people.

Men in tights: Are you into bows and arrows, chivalry, and leather
armor? Or maybe you’re just nostalgic for good old fashioned classic tales of heroism? The new “Robin Hood” movie  directed by Ridely Scott starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett comes out Thursday May 14 in theatres everywhere.
